We've been feeling ever since the onslaught of all of the ultra formal Cannes looks (along with the Christian Dior and Mohammad Ashi posts), that the blog has been looking pretty dressy lately. So let's throw in another more casual look. This is really an easy look of ours. I'm sure a lot of you have a good striped shirt these days, so just pair it with a few brighter accessories and voila! You may have noticed that we stayed away from a colorful shoe. It would really just be too much for the look. So keep in mind that there is definitely balance in color and accessories. By the way, this little orange bracelet of ours has been pretty fun lately. It has brought in the tiniest bit of color without being overly obtrusive. Also you've seen us pair this scarf before in winter and you've probably guessed by now that it's one of our favorites. Its rich color just adds the perfect bit of something else to an otherwise basic outfit. Also Desirae here has a way of tying scarves that is perfect. I (Melody) on the other hand, do not. I'm pretty sure she slightly ties the bottom and lets the top lie more loose. I'll have to try that next time I'm using a smaller scarf....

THE GOWNS AT CANNES 2012
Naomi Watts in Marchesa
Dianna Kruger in Nina Ricci
Anne Consigny in Alexis Mabille Couture
Anne Consigny in Alexis Mabille Couture
Cheryl Cole in Stephane Rolland
Jessica Chastain in Gucci (we know it's low cut, but we couldn't resist something so beautiful!)
Li Bingbing and Frida Giannini (Gucci designer) both in Gucci designs
Fan Bingbing in Elie Saab
Fan Bingbing in Valentino Couture
So many beautiful gowns have been seen at Cannes this year. Yet, here are the more modest red carpet looks. We'd have to say that Fan Bingbing (who we've posted about before, here, and different from Li Bingbing up top) has been hitting the looks out of the park. I mean seriously? Her other looks worn at the festival are equally as stylish, but they happen to be strapless or too low cut etc. But man! That girl's got some style. Naomi Watts looked incredible in her Marchesa gown as well as Jessica Chastain in Gucci. We definitely have a soft spot for Jessica since she's a fellow class mate of ours, and we think she has looked amazing in every look at Cannes this year. We know the one pictured is low cut, but oh what a beautiful dress! We also absolutely loved Dianne Kruger's Nina Ricci dress. And funny enough Ms. Cosigny's Alexis Mabille Couture dress we have on our pinterest boards here. We also have some looks from Tilda Swinton coming, so stay tuned!

TEAL JEANS AND NAVY
We've had a lot of dressy looks as of late, so we wanted to go for a more casual Tuesday. We decided to pair teal and navy together today (which funny enough, we forgot we did last year here). We figured we'd implement Clinton Kelly's advice in working with color by adding a texture (that being the snakeskin/zebra-esque clutch). This is a definite favorite clutch of ours as of late, so we hope you guys don't get sick of seeing it. It's a really good buy at H&M right now if you too would like to add some texture to your wardrobe. By the way, we're kinda liking the color plus texture advice. We think it helps bring depth or something more interesting to an otherwise pretty colorful outfit. What do you guys think?

CHRISTIAN DIOR COUTURE SPRING 2012 - Grace Kelly inspired?
We like to call this the frothy Grace Kelly collection. All of these looks are so retro where even the stylings of hair and make-up remind us of Princess Grace. It makes you want to jump back into the movie High Society, where every look Grace wore looked like these. I wish we could show you the gowns in this collection but they were just barely not covering over the shoulders (here's one that is to die for). Wow, this is inspiring one us to break out her 'Grace Kelly' look. Stay tuned...

CANNES 2012 HIGHLIGHT - Eva Herzigova in Dolce and Gabbana
We're not the only ones who noticed it, but this look of Eva's reminds us so much of this scene, it's crazy. Something about the hair, the diamonds, the red carpeted stairs and the men in black all around her, have made us want to start singing "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend!" For your sake, it's a good thing blog posts come without sound. OK we'll try to get beyond the Marilyn Monroe similarity, but truly, she looks stunning don't you think?

SARAH FROM "WELCOME TO THE GOOD LIFE"
We ran into Sarah from Welcome to the Good life at Tiffany last week and didn't she look so cute? We are in love with her Tahari dress from Macy's (lovely Sarah sent us a link to where you can buy it here). We didn't realize it when we first met her, but we were already familiar with her blog. One of her DIY puffy sleeve post images showed up on Pinterest and we were so intrigued that we spent a while trying to find out where it came from (Man! Pinterest makes it so hard to trace image sources). To make a long story short, let's just say we finally found her, and ever since we've been hooked (you should check out her recent post on dying your own mint-colored jeans here). Anyway, she's quite creative, (besides being beautiful) and we were glad we got to meet her.
Lastly... do you notice the color of her finger nails? Man, we wish we had a close up on them. Yes, we're pretty sure that's Tiffany blue there. And we must admit, it's very fitting....
