DO WE POST TOO MUCH?

OK guys we need your input majorly. We read this comment the other day below the Giambattista Valli post and wondered if the vast majority felt the same...

"Hi, I just wanted to say that I enjoy your blog so much more when you show real, every day fashion, like you used to do a lot more when the blog first started. The dresses above have absolutely no relevance whatsoever for the every day woman who is looking for day to day inspiration. You have shown so many fashion/Hollywood awards shows in the last few months that I'm beginning to wonder what the purpose of the blog is. I'm afraid it is no longer meeting my interests or needs. I just thought I'd throw this out there and request you to go back to your origins. Both of you ladies are so beautiful and stylish, and I just love it when you put your own outfits together. Thank you for your consideration."

So here's the thing. Our outfit posts have not changed. We have done 2 posts a week since the beginning of the blog. What has changed, as I'm sure you've all noticed, is that we update the blog daily now. We still have our 2 looks, but have "filled it out" on the other days with modest red carpet, runway and other highlights we see along the way.  These are things we have always kept up with behind the scenes, but we thought you guys would enjoy viewing some of what's behind our style and get more comprehensive coverage of the modest style world along the way. If it's too much we can surely back off and do what we were doing before.  We are totally fine to do that (it's actually much, MUCH easier). But before we do anything we NEED your thoughts. So please comment!

  1. I love the red carpet (and other) looks. They are, for me, inspirational because they provide a foundation of sorts that I can use when I'm scanning my own closet, even for everyday wear ("oh, seeing lots of semi-abstract flower designs...more reds than yellows lately....shorter, fuller feminine skirts are okay now..."). I'm also looking at your blog with an eye for designing band fashion, though, and these "star" looks are inspirational along those lines, so I really appreciate them on that level, too.

    1. I totally agree with this . I wouldn't change a thing . I like seeing the every day wear from you guys but I also like seeing that celebrities and fashion models can dress modestly too . Thanks for all of it!

  3. Hey there! I came upon your blog while I was looking up more info on you guys because I really love the music you {five} make!!! :D so this blog find was just a bonus :)

I really enjoy the red carpet/inspiration/Hollywood posts you put up here...
Seeing those "glam" posts and then your own outfits raises the standard, I think ;D
    Good work so far!!

PLEASE do not cut down on the "inspiration" posts!
I think it is so good to highlight tasteful choices on the red carpet, as a change to the rather crude "reveal-all" approach of most, and I believe that is these inspiration posts are very much in keeping with the theme and purpose of your blog so keep up the good work!!

  4. I would agree that I find our person style posts much more interesting and inspiring than the runway, red-carpet, celebrity posts. But, that doesn't mean that those other posts aren't fun. I enjoy visiting everyday and having something to look forward to. My vote would be yes for daily posts, but (if possible) more of your own personal style posts.

You guys are doing great, it's a lovely blog.
    xoxo

  5. I absolutely love your blog, every part of it! It has everything that I am looking for: a connection to the professional fashion world, practical, personalized application, style tips, and a Christian/modest perspective. I wouldn't change a thing!

    There's my two cents.

    appreciatively,

  6. I definitely enjoy the modest runway/award show posts. I love seeing the modest looks in Hollywood!

  7. I enjoy the Hollywood/runway posts, but I agree that your personal style posts are more enjoyable, mostly because your outfits are easier to duplicate than celebrity red carpet outfits :) But whatever you guys do, I will keep reading your blog because I freaking love it!

  9. I DO enjoy the outfit posts more, but I enjoy looking at the modest red carpet too. Maybe you could do more casual/attainable Hollywood style? You know, street fashion?
Just a thought! But as everyone said above, it's your blog you can do whatever suits your fancy!

  11. Don't change anything! Please! I love seeing the inspiration behind what I find in stores and I love looking forward to when the affordable version will trickle down to my level:) Thanks for all you do! I may or may not llok through your archives when I have no idea what to wear!

  12. As a performer, I actually find a ton a value in seeing the fancy dresses, since that is a part of my life as well as the day-to-day. Personally, red carpet looks are my favorite part of the blog. To each his own,but I say keep both!

  13. What?! No, not too much at all! Keep it coming! Y'all are lovely! :)

  14. I really enjoy the runway posts because I don't have to wade through all the immodest looks to see the beautiful modest looks. I love seeing the high fashion even though it is not "relevant" for my everyday look - far from it as I am a very simple, classic dresser. I enjoy the art of high fashion and hope you continue providing your posts.

  15. I do like seeing some of the red carpet looks, but I definitely get more inspiration from your own everyday looks and LOVE seeing what you're wearing, how you're switching it up, and your vintage finds! Thanks for blogging!

  16. I enjoy reading your blog a lot, and in my opinion you should post about what you like, you can't please every single person, but if you're just yourself and post about what makes you happy and what you want to share, then you'll really let your persona and style shine, so if you want my suggestion, stick to your likes, not your reader's ;)

  17. I love it filled in with both :)

  18. Hey, I'm the person who made the original comment. It's kind of fun to see all the opinions (which largely favor keeping the great blog the way it is). What I'm gathering, however, is that a few of us would like to see more than just two of your own personal outfits per week. But I'm assuming that you wouldn't have time to do more than two, I'm sure it's a lot of work, which I REALLY appreciate. I wrote another comment on the post that had my original comment, which stated the easiest solution for me, I realize is to just look at the posts that interest me...light bulb! But I'm glad this happened so Thread Ethic knows how much most people appreciate the runway posts. Also, I'm a plain dresser so that is one reason the every day styles appeal to me so much more (I don't accessorize a whole lot either). So, my conclusion is that I'm grateful for the two posts each week and I certainly wouldn't want to take away from what you other ladies enjoy so much. I was just offering an opinion. Thanks!

  19. Personally, I prefer the everyday clothing posts, because if I wanted to see what celebrities or runway models were wearing, I'd...look at a celebrity website or a regular fashion blog or something.

Is there a possibility you could introduce a tagging system so that people like me can go straight to the everyday wear posts?

    1. Actually, the tagging system is already there...look to your right under "our looks." Also all of the the other red carpet/designer looks will be tagged as well in their respective categories soon. Thanks!

    2. Awesome! Thank you for pointing that out, I don't know how I missed that!

  20. As the father of 5 daughters, I support the work you are doing. You let the young women see that fashion can be cute, hot, AND modest. Thank you.

  21. No! You post alot what I like but I do think you should post more outfits posts cuze I do not like the modesty and red carpet and such. I just don't find inperation in it

  22. Please post the runway looks! I don't really know where to go to find the runway/fashion show looks if I wanted to, so I just come here since it's all modest! I think what you're doing is great, and it's telling the world that whether you're a celebrity/fashion designer, you can still be fashionable when modest.

  23. As a modest dresser, I really love the runway looks because it gives me "fuel" for my closet! i can try to emulate looks from the runway or watch for those pieces to go on sale for special events (or even rent the runway)! Please, don't back off on those!:) You ladies are not only inspiring on the piano, but also on the catwalk;)
