Well good news! Chanel Resort just showed and look at the lengths of the skirts here...yep yep...the mid-calf/knee length is oh so chic at the moment. This collection was definitely inspired by a lot of things, one, the old Coco Chanel's (Gabrielle Chanel) mixture of stripes and shorter, wide sailor pants, and then her more grown up looks into the 1920's. You could totally envision her in many of these things. Also, coming right off of the Met Costume Gala, you can see the bit of punk mixed in. And can you believe celebrities, models and all took off the day after the Met Gala to show this collection in Singapore? Yeah, talk about crazy. Oh! And can you say cap toe pumps? We are about to buy this pair.

Orange Pencil Skirt and Loose Sweater
Bigger loose sweaters were seen all over the runways with longer pencil skirts. Here's an example from Jil Sander and another we've shown you from Celine. The actual look from the runways pair the more loose fitting sweaters with below the knee pencil skirts (which we will for SURE do). So yes Melody's orange pencil is slightly short for the look, but hey we like some color (from Forever21). She also can't wait to start pairing the two bigger knit sweaters she bought (this one is from H&M and the other from Forever 21) with all of her longer pencils as well as shorter flouncy skirts and slacks. We say you should pick yourselves up a loose sweater. It is SOOOO useful for spring (It's all she's been wearing...no jackets necessary). And this one from H&M is perfect. The look is extremely versatile at the moment and it's only continuing into fall.

Met Costume Institute Gala 2013
Cameron Diaz in Stella McCartney
Nicole Richie in Topshop
Emily Blunt in Carolina Herrera
Ginnifer Goodwin in Tory Burch
Minka Kelly in Carolina Herrera
Amanda Seyfried in Givenchy
Amber Heard in Emilio Pucci
Since many of you have spoken out on some of our red carpet choices in the past, we have chosen to call these looks the MORE modest choices from the red carpet. Obviously not every dress fits every criteria of modesty, but we'd have to say many of these are pretty dang close, and pretty dang fabulous. By the way, the event was called "PUNK: from Chaos to Couture," after the new exhibit showing at the Met, so many celebrities stepped out in their punk wear, hair and makeup. Some were oh so fabulous, others frankly were a mess. But hey it's one of couture fashion's biggest nights and always fun to see how crazy it can get. By the way, that Stella McCartney dress Cameron Diaz is wearing is oh so amazing (and that belt will kill you).

Jacquard Peplum Top
We needed something very specific for some important interviews on this past tour, so this definitely fit the bill. In media interviews, we obviously want something that gives a bit of a rocker vibe (hehe, some people refer to us as a band, even though we're classical musicians), but still remains professional. Desirae called Melody late one night explaining this peplum top and Melody couldn't see how it would work with the rest of the group (the joys of styling 5 musicians). But Desirae believed in it and to Melody's surprise it ended up working really well with the rust and Yves Klein blue other members of the group were wearing. The top is from H&M, pants Zara. Want a similar top? Here you go from Asos (and please don't wear the matching pant with it).

White House Correspondent's Dinner 2013
Kate Mara in Chanel
Nicole Kidman in Emilio Pucci
Amy Poehler in Basler
Conni Britton in Temperley London
Emily Mortimer in Oscar de la Renta
So nice to see so many more demure looks from the famous dinner. Also of note is Michelle Dockery's Elie Saab look that was gorgeous but slightly sleeveless. Enjoy!
