Since many of you have spoken out on some of our red carpet choices in the past, we have chosen to call these looks the MORE modest choices from the red carpet. Obviously not every dress fits every criteria of modesty, but we'd have to say many of these are pretty dang close, and pretty dang fabulous.  By the way, the event was called "PUNK: from Chaos to Couture," after the new exhibit showing at the Met, so many celebrities stepped out in their punk wear, hair and makeup.  Some were oh so fabulous, others frankly were a mess. But hey it's one of couture fashion's biggest nights and always fun to see how crazy it can get. By the way, that Stella McCartney dress Cameron Diaz is wearing is oh so amazing (and that belt will kill you).

Jacquard Peplum Top

We needed something very specific for some important interviews on this past tour, so this definitely fit the bill. In media interviews, we obviously want something that gives a bit of a rocker vibe (hehe, some people refer to us as a band, even though we're classical musicians), but still remains professional. Desirae called Melody late one night explaining this peplum top and Melody couldn't see how it would work with the rest of the group (the joys of styling 5 musicians). But Desirae believed in it and to Melody's surprise it ended up working really well with the rust and Yves Klein blue other members of the group were wearing. The top is from H&M, pants Zara. So nice to see so many more demure looks from the famous dinner. Also of note is Michelle Dockery's Elie Saab look that was gorgeous but slightly sleeveless. Enjoy!

Cate Blanchett - Dubai Film Festival

We are a little late to the party with these looks from Cate (last year), but we wanted to post them anyway. The upper top and skirt look is from the designer Peter Pilotti and the gown is by Rodarte. Want a more affordable version of the upper look? Although that Pilotti top is incredible, you can achieve a similar look with a black peplum skirt and scarf print blouse. Come to think of it, this scarf print blouse is pretty similar as well...not to mention it looks pretty close to the one we featured Nicole Warne wearing a few posts ago....

White Dress, Black Booties

White and black. We've been seeing plenty of fashionistas sporting the combo. The look has been looser fitting dresses with edgier black shoes. The sartorialist shows a look here, Hanneli Mustaparta here, and Poppy Delevingne here. Keeping the accessories minimal is key. With the weather somewhat warming (hopefully) this is the perfect night out look. Oh, and forget the little black dress, make it more modern with the LWD.
