Want to look stylish but hate pulling out all the bells and whistles of a perfectly coordinated and complicated outfit? Then just look to model Miranda Kerr for simple, on trend looks that require relatively few pieces. In fact, most of us probably own most of the pieces Miranda is sporting in these looks (leather trousers aside). So, in a rush or running out the door and feel like there is no time for style? It's so hard to choose which is our personal favorite though. We love the Elie Tahari green that Zoe is wearing up top, but also love the black satin Ralph Lauren that Angelina donned near the bottom. Which is your favorite?

Here are some of my most favorite modest celebrity fashion looks of late... From top to bottom Rachael Zoe in Christian Dior; Felicity Jones in Chloe; Amanda Seyfried in Marios Schwab; Liv Tyler in classic trench, stripes and black skinnies; Anne Hathaway in Valentino; Kirsten Dunst in Honor (we imagine this dress with a little lining on the shoulders...), and the Duchess of Cambridge in Amanda Wakeley. I know some of you may not like the Christian Dior look on Racheal Zoe but I love, love, love it! Very 70's cool in minimalist white. If I could, I would steal this look. Which is your favorite? Yes, this is an entirely designer look (Rick Owens jacket, Helmut Lang shirt, Chloe skirt, Lanvin shoes, Proenza Schouler bag), BUT you can find similar pieces to recreate this look in a much more affordable way. There are faux leather jackets at Target and Lulu's that will get you in on the moto trend without breaking your budget and a  Trouve skirt from Nordstrom that is high end looking but much more affordable than the Chloe one Anja Rubick is wearing here. What a lovely way to start the transition into cooler weather.

KATE

As promised, here are more looks from The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's tour of North America. In the first photo Kate is wearing a green Diane von Furstenberg dress and clutch, in the second a Jenny Peckham dress, and in the third she is wearing a gorgeous Alexander McQueen gown with Jimmy Choo heels and clutch. Modesty with high style.

One of our readers mentioned that the new Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, has a very fashion forward yet modest way of dressing. We couldn't agree more. Here are a few of the Duchess's looks we're liking lately. Honestly, there were so many lovely dresses from Kate's recent tour of North America that we are dividing our offering of Kate looks into two posts. Vogue has also noticed the stylish, yet demure, style of the Duchess and thus offered 25 looks they believe the duchess would approve of (we've shown a few we prefer here). 

VIONNET

Is there a more perfect dress to wear to a The Tree of Life party in Cannes, France? We're talking about the film The Tree of Life, and we don't think so. Love, love love this dress by Vionnet worn by Zoe Saldana and also loved the film (which we did not see in Cannes but nonetheless enjoyed at our local theater).

WHITE

What is summer without white dresses? Wearing all white is very on trend now and the Modest Girl needn't miss out on all the pretty, pristine looks. Here are three inspirational looks from top to bottom: Astrid Berges-Frisbey wearing Chanel Haute Couture; a pleated dress from the Calvin Klein Collection Spring 2011 runway, and Kate Bosworth in Jill Sander. So pretty, right?

EVENING

We've decided to share two red carpet evening looks we're liking lately. The first is the actress Paz Vega at the 2011 Shanghai Film festival proving that modesty can be all out glamorous with long sleeves and sequins. The seconds is Drew Barrymore wearing Chanel in a simply effortless yet elegant evening look. We are adoring the skirt and think the length is pitch perfect for a summer evening out.

MET GALA 2011

Here are some of our favorite looks from this year's Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala. The Met Gala is one of the most elite fashion events of the year. We love that some of the world's most fashionable women were gorgeous in very modest dresses. Here we've shown Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow and Hailee Steinfeld all wearing Stella McCartney and Joan Smalls wearing Tom Ford. Perfection. Which is your favorite?

SO CUTE

We think the actress Lindsey Pulsipher looks so cute here. Everything she's wearing gives a sporty chic vibe - the mittens, stripe shirt, green puffy coat, scarf, cross-body bag, knit hat and vintage lace-up booties all combine for a fun outdoor look. I'm always looking for ways to inject more life into winter outerwear and she definitely hit a cool note in Sundance fashion. I really like how she finished the look with red lips. I think I'll do the same with my next sporty outfit..

SAG AWARDS, JANUARY JONES

We had to share with you our favorite dress from the Screen Actors Guild Awards. This is January Jones (from the series Mad Men) wearing Carolina Herrera. So perfect with all the lace, sleeves and gorgeous, retro, sculptured hair. January caused a bit of fashion controversy when she wore a very revealing Versace dress to the Golden Globes a couple weeks ago. It appears she decided to take a more demure approach to dressing for the SAG Awards, and we couldn't be more pleased. Cheers!

GOLDEN GLOBES

"Spot the common denominator between the best dresses at the Golden Globes? They all had long sleeves, a feature which clearly had nothing to do with the wearers' dislike of showing their arms, that phobia which supposedly sets in with middle age. No: Anne Hathaway in slinky caramel Armani Privé, Leighton Meester in cloudy Burberry, Angelina Jolie in emerald Atelier Versace, and Tilda Swinton in her Jil Sander white shirt and satin skirt all came out in sleeves as an active point of fashion. Compare their elegant reserve to the women flashing cleavage and leg, and the visual shift they effected is clear - the flashers look clichéd, stuck in that worn-out, red-carpet groove."  -  The London Telegraph

BRIGHT SPOT

This is Whitney Port wearing an ensemble by Add Minus. I love the sheen of the pants and the zipper detail at her ankles. The silky top and shrunken leather jacket are cool, but in a chill way. What really makes this whole look rock though are the bright orange, studded heels - a perfect counterpoint to the dark mix of neutrals. My closet is full of neutral clothing and I think a pair of orange, studded heels might just be what those neutrals are begging for.

BURBERRY

This is Alexa Chung wearing a gorgeous Burberry Prorsum dress. I love everything about it - the color, the tiny collar and buttons, the shoulders and tie at the waist. I adore the subtle military feel of the whole thing. Perfection. In fact, I was in love with the entire Burberry Fall 2010 ready-to-wear collection. There were pretty dresses with tough military and shearling jackets, and the alluring mix of leather and lace. We Modest Girls could wear nearly everything in the line, given our bank accounts were large enough, but as that is probably not likely for most of us, we can still aspire to look like the Burberry girls (while recreating a look here and there of course).
