WINTER ROAD TRIP

So Melody took a road trip last week with her husband to Oregon.  Since the Thread Ethic lens has been buried, it was very sad to leave the camera behind. Thank goodness for the camera phone! So they're just pluggin along through this winter wonderland, stopping along the way, when they come to the sign above. We've never seen a horse sign before. We thought it was weird, but we kept going. Seconds after this, we saw a big bunch of horses on the road. Melody thought maybe they were let loose from a ranch nearby, but we were on a wildlife preserve. Then the trusty fellow next to her (yeah, that's a husband) remembers watching a documentary about wild horses in Nevada. Sure enough, we were crossing through NV. No horseshoes on these buddies. These guys were born wild and free. It was AMAZING to come to this realization. Why were they on the road? They were going crazy over the salt put down for the ice. Seriously, one of the coolest moments ever. Oh and lastly, Melody's wearing a plaid coat from a boutique in China, but we are loving this one. And for a higher priced coat, this Burberry one is fantastic.

OUR BURBERRY PRORSUM INSPIRED LOOK

Burberry Prorsum inspired

What can we say? We told you we've been very inspired by the many looks from this post. Here we are taking after a specific look from Burberry Prorsum's fall runway again. The jacket and fur collar you've seen us sport before but paired with a t-shirt, longer sheath skirt, grey textured tights and black ankle boots you've got a pretty warm dressy/casual look. Melody wore this to a wedding luncheon the other day and thought it a good outfit for wanting to be dressy, but not overly dressy. We think the Burberry owl sweater is much more fun, but the screen tee will totally suffice.

Zara Military inspiration

Military Jacket, Ripped jeans
Black Military Jacket
Black military jacket, ripped jeans

This look was very much inspired by Zara's November Lookbook. You can see the look that got to us here. Obviously the Zara coat is amazing, but we'll live with our H&M military jacket. And these are the ripped jeans Melody keeps talking about. Should they be retired? Hmmmm....

Kate Bosworth - Casual Style

Yep, She's got some pretty cool style going. She definitely has her OWN style which is cool and we totally respect. AND she's not afraid to wear her pieces repeatedly. So, the moral of the story is that we think Kate's pretty cool. Also, totally taking inspiration in the bigger sweater paired with longer skirts....

Downton Abbey - Designer inspiration

We're sure many of you, like us, couldn't wait to view the first episode of Downton Abbey this past Sunday. So in homage to our excitement, we wanted to show you how we weren't the only ones obsessing over it. These are just two of the myriads of designers who took inspiration from ol' Downton in their fall lines in 2012. Up top is a gorgeous red velvet L'Wren Scott dress, and down below is the more structured victorian inspired coats that were seen all over the Louis Vuitton runway.  You have to see the ad here. So much fun to view (although pretty unwearable, sorry guys)! Oh and if you're looking for the PERFECT Downton inspired evening gown, this is the one.

Maternity Shift Dress

Black and Gold Shoes

Here's one of our last Maternity looks for you. Why? Because DESIRAE HAD HER BABY THIS PAST FRIDAY!!! Let's just say she's super excited (and sort of out of it) at the moment. Oh, and Melody has to tell you that the little girl is so beautiful. It makes her very much a gushing aunt. We could go on and on about everything, but we won't kill you with the details. Suffice it to say that all is well.

So, on to the look. This was one of Desirae's go-to dressier maternity looks. And we have to admit that both of us feel very partial to dresses for maternity. We're not gonna lie, skirts just start to look weird since they're either hiked up way high, or pulled down way low. So Desirae stuck to dresses for most of her maternity.  This one just happened to already be in her closet and worked since it was a mod-fit shift dress (want something similar? we are LOVING this one). Ok, so these are the shoes we've been in love with lately. We fell in love because they looked so much like the Fendi shoe we were seeing at the beginning of the season.  And now you can get ours pictured majorly on sale. Quite the steal. We love them. You might also remember us talking about this black and gold shoe all the way back with the look Marion Cotilliard wore? Well now you can also get the beautiful Ralph Lauren heels she wore on sale. We say you should take a look....
