MODEST LOOKBOOK - Emily Blunt in Carolina Herrera

It's strange that we see some of these looks on the runway and they all kind of blend in. This particular dress didn't necessarily stand out in Carolina Herrera's fall collection, but as soon as someone steps out wearing it, we can't help but think "Ooooh, I love that! Who is the designer?", not realizing that we've already seen it before. Regardless, we think Emily Blunt looks fabulous in it.

ALICE + OLIVIA - worn by Dianna Agron and Krysten Ritter

A look at the Fall 2012 collection...

Dianna Agron looked so cute in her Alice and Olivia sunflower dress on the set of The View the other day. The Actress Krysten Ritter also looked adorable in the designers' lace dress for the screening of her film "Don't Trust the B... in Apartment 23." Separate from those two looks, we  figured we'd show you the most recent fall collection from Alice + Olivia since there were so many fun clothes featured.  Although the make-up and hair is a bit too much for us, the clothing itself is beautiful. We love the shape and cut of the black and white printed gown up top. The print may be loud, but the make of the dress is perfect. The bottom lace dress reminds us of the lace dress we pinned on pinterest that Kate Middleton wore to an event earlier this year. All in all, beautifully tailored clothes.

RED JEANS AND MILITARY JACKET

Before Kate Middleton was seen in this look, we were inspired by a look we had seen with red jeans and military inspired jacket in US magazine. So it was rather coincidental that she appeared in that outfit when we conceived of this one. We can only hope to think like Kate more often! The H&M jacket pictured here we've had for about 3 years now. It's definitely a piece that feels pretty classic. Pairing it with red jeans however gives it a new look. So remember, pick up some pieces every so often that you can wear in spring and fall, year after year. You'll be happy you did.

POPPY DELEVIGNE

PoppyPoppy Delevigne

Yet another model who dresses impeccably well off duty. If you haven't noticed in these images, Poppy Delevigne and last week's looks from Miranda Kerr both have something sort of similar in common. They're able to take a very simplistic approach to their clothing, yet maintain the cool and original factor. How do they do this? If you look carefully, you'll notice how clean the lines are. Poppy is not overly accessorized, but picks one or two pieces in each outfit that make her different than every other girl on the street. We think this is a great approach to being a classic dresser. Being overly accessorized doesn't necessarily make an outfit better, it really just comes down to the way you put different pieces together.

EASTER SUNDAY ATTIRE

Easter sunday was beautiful in this part of the country.  When I woke up that morning to get dressed, I definitely wanted to match the feeling in the air. Our streets have been lined with white blossoms for the past week and definitely serve as adequate inspiration for everything beautiful. Blossoms were centerpieces on our Easter table, the smell of them filled the breeze, and petals floated over the long awaited new grass. Finally, with all that said, my sunday wardrobe choice consisted of cream, nudes and greys. Funny enough, I realized after the fact that my blouse actually sort of looks like petals!
So there you have it. I let others showcase the color on sunday. I just felt, well... clean. (Diane von Furstenburg blouse, Victoria's Secret cream pencil skirt, J. Crew Belt and Nine West pewter platforms)

MODEST LOOKBOOK - Jil Sander paint print dress

Amazing

I was tie-dying easter eggs (yes 'tie-dying') the other night with family when I kept thinking about this dress I had seen from Jil Sander's 2011 Spring collection.  Although from last year, we absolutely loved this photo and had to share (featuring model Frida Gustavsson for a Swedish magazine called DV Mode). Along with this look was another (although strapless) I kept thinking about from Monique Lhuillier's Spring 2012 collection. But really we loved the Jil Sander dress pictured since it was such a fresh take on color over an almost white 'canvas' (my equivalent to dye over the white of eggs).
By the way, we didn't think to show you what we were wearing for Easter sunday! But let's suffice to say that when I was getting dressed yesterday morning I knew there would be a flood of pastel, floral and bright colors I'd encounter through the day. So I opted for something different. We'll try and show you tomorrow. But really I'm glad I didn't think to stop and take a picture. The day truly deserves other thoughts beyond our obsession with the forever hyped "Easter Sunday attire". All in all, it was a gloriously beautiful Sunday. We hope yours was the similar!
