OUR TAKE ON ROCHAS RESORT 2013 ~ Thread Ethic | Modest Fashion

You saw us post about Rochas Resort and now you get to see how the final dress (here) was obviously a direct inspiration to this look of ours. We loved the cream t-shirt under the black that we couldn't wait to recreate it ourselves. Although we think this works best with strapless dresses, we created our look with a black tube top, black full skirt and cream t-shirt (if you're using a tube top, like we did, make sure whatever is on bottom matches the top so it looks like one complete dress). So many modest dressers pair their tank tops and spaghetti strap dresses with t-shirts underneath, and we have to admit we don't really love the look. But somehow we think the strapless dress with the t-shirt works well (we also LOVE using sweetheart necklines). We've seen it done multiple places over the last few seasons with dresses similar to Rochas. We'll give you an example with this dress from Temperley London. You can totally recreate the idea with this awesome peplum dress paired with this ivory t-shirt. Think of the possibilities! Here are the specifics of our look: J. Crew belt, Tiffany chain bracelet,  H&M skirt (older), Shade tee, Michael Kors shoes, and Aldo bag.

  1. Adorable outfit! I happen to love the tee shirt under the strapless (item) look! :)

  2. I just purchased the ASOS Pencil Dress In Wiggle Shape thanks to one of your last posts. Thanks!

  3. i think this looks lovely. it really does look like one complete dress!

i'm not a fan of t-shirts under straps either. i prefer a light bolero, cardigan, or even collared shirt thrown over the top.
