Here's a casual Thursday look for you guys. Melody wore this to a parade the other day and ultimately dressed for comfort. If any of you are on Pinterest you might have noticed that many people are becoming obsessed with "mint" things at the moment. At first we were annoyed since the mint color was really used pretty sparingly on the runways (seen first at the Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 show here and here). And then we think the Pinterest trend must have stuck in our brains because when we saw this bag for sale the other day in an asian boutique we couldn't resist being drawn to the color. It makes us think of 1950s appliances and cars. So in the end, it was bought. And for some reason the urge to pair it with 50's skirts is coming on strong....

ReplyDeleteI think it's cool when the "regular" people can come up with a trend that hits and sticks without it being seen on the runway. There are some people off the runway who have style worthy of being on it if you ask me - and if that person started the mint thing, thank goodness for them cuz I LOVE IT! And just because it's seen on the runway maybe doesn't mean it should be a trend ...(like jumpsuits)
DeleteAgreed to a certain extent (along with our response two posts above). The romper is another one we'll never quite see. But things like huge fascinators (those massive flowery, crazy head band things), big flower pins on necklaces and such, are trends in the mainstream that we're not quite sure how they took off. But if you did notice lol, we did give in. So sometimes the layman trends can be nice :). We just won't report them until we think they're nice :).....
DeleteLove the fedora! I've always been a bit obsessed with them, and it's definitely shown on my blog this summer... I am kind of dying over the purse though! Which Asian boutique did you find it in? Was it one here in Utah?

Lol...."asian boutique" was the nice way of saying an awesome asian market off of 9000 so. in Utah called Asian City. That place is super crazy, but super cool. Never seen anything like it in the states. It really does feel like you stepped into a Chinese market.
