THE DESERT

This look was supposed to be the outfit I wore to the Grotto concert in Moab. But I realized only right before, that going down the river in a speedboat, walking through sand and hiking the rocks to the "first tier" (the natural ledge of rocks in the grotto amphitheater), that maybe this was not the best pick (hence, contributing to my bad packing in that post). So here's the outfit that never got seen, and would've looked a heck of a lot nicer in pictures. By the way, the dress is vintage, glasses are Quetee and everything else you've seen before.

LOVELY VALENTINO

Oh Valentino. You have been the modest girl's friend these last few seasons. We couldn't let the fashion month leave without posting some of our favorite Spring lines. And of course Valentino always seems to be near the top of that list. We feel these looks are very 30's inspired. Which is nice since so many of the other lines were very edgy (think lots of leather and graphic/bold prints). We saw these last week while we were boarding a plane and were definitely fawning over them. We know that some of the linings are a little too sheer, but please don't fault us for that. They are still so beautiful. We know we tend to gravitate towards modest evening wear (since that is what we do), but we hope one day high fashion modest evening wear is not far out of your reach.

THE 80's JEAN

Now isn't she just so cute? We LOVE her top. We also like the throw back to the 80's wash jean. We don't know if we're quite so brave to sport them, but by all means, if you do it like this, we say go for it!

BUSINESS LEISURE

Our title makes you think of leisure suits from the 70s, but seriously we couldn't think of anything that got the point across! (Great, now all we can think of is Randy Quaid walking around the super market in Christmas Vacation. Step away, step away. ) Anyway, this outfit was so obviously inspired by poppy delevigne it's not even funny. We're really liking the loose combo here with the loose T and relaxed fit trousers. This was one of our last late summer looks, but if you throw on a trim or even loose jacket (seen here at Paris Fashion week) it really could take you right into fall. Add some heels and a clutch and you're ready for business...leisure style :)

LEOPARD SHOES

Evidently we weren't the only ones who noticed the skirt and shoe combo. NY Magazine did as well here. You've seen us sporting our leopard shoes, but these here are definitely a bit more amped.

AUTUMN CASUAL - Military Green

We know it's starting to get a little cooler for shorts, but the weather is still fluctuating all over the country that we're still happy to bring these into fall. For instance, we're going to be in Austin TX next week and it's still definitely warm (which hopefully should justify my packing these shorts, but up until this point the country has definitely gotten cooler). Regardless, this outfit worked well for a drive through the canyon a bit ago. There's nothing like aspen groves in the fall. But let's get to the outfit. So military green. Yeah it's a HUGE trend that started this fall and is now going strong into the spring lines (if you walk into any Zara right now, you'll see that they've picked up on the trend heavily). So we're excited to showcase it in these shorts. Also, we modest dressers are going to like that longer shorts were also seen on quite a few runways. These are a tiny bit short, but I love that the cut is so different than the typical modest short. Shorts are Walmart (men's), t-shirt, Forever 21; sweater, Target; sunglasses, Topshop.
