Seriously girls... it's time we picked prom dresses that were more stylish. Wouldn't these options be beautiful? If we were attending prom, we'd love to wear something like the long-sleeved red Monique Lhullier or the powder pink/salmon Zac Posen. But seriously, there are so many beautiful options. This is just a sampling of so many looks that have come off the runway in the past year. Tomorrow we'll show one of our own modest evening looks and how we didn't break the bank acquiring it....

ELIZABETH BANKS IN MARC JACOBS - Hunger Games Paris premiere

With the release of the Hunger Games today we couldn't resist showing you this fabulous Marc Jacobs dress that Elizabeth Banks wore to the Paris premiere. We kinda hate to admit it, but we're pretty excited to get to a theater sometime this weekend....
By the way, we had no idea that this Marc Jacobs dress was even shown in the Fall line. It just goes to show that underneath all of the hats, coats and scarves, there are some amazing pieces. We are in love with this dress. It's almost like Dorothy's ruby slippers on steroids. Beautiful.

FUR COLLAR JACKET - Derek Lam inspired

OH MY GOSH we were freaking out when we saw the Pre-Fall line of Derek Lam. It's amazing. We won't show you the line now since all of us are more excited about the end of winter, but we'll give you a sneak peak for this next season. We shot these pictures after we saw the line and had to recreate it in our own way. One thing you'll be hearing a lot more of come fall is the "fur snood" (click and you'll see what it exactly is it). Crazy word..."snood". Although the fur collar is a tiny bit different than the "snood" I think we'll start to see them used interchangeably. A secret from our end is that you've seen our "snood" used twice now (you might have noticed it on this jacket). So why not take your favorite blazer and add a bit of fur? Ours is taken off of a vintage coat, but we think faux can be just as nice. Be on the look out for one this fall....
(Zara blazer, Aldo bag, Nine West heels, BCBG cigarette pants.)

MODEST LOOKBOOK: MICHELLE WILLIAMS TOKYO PREMIERE

At the Tokyo premiere of "My Week with Marilyn," Michelle Williams looked amazing in this pink Valentino dress. Valentino seems to be her go-to designer these days and we're definitely happy she's chosen them. Soon we'll have to take you through some of the Valentino collections for 2012. As usual they have created some of the most beautiful lines this year. What we've been loving is how so many of their dresses cover quite a bit. So much so, that we're wondering when our luck is going to run out with fashion these days. The most current hemlines are long and sleeves are the thing. We feel like there are so many things to show you!

SLIP DRESS

We saw plenty of beautiful and slinky dresses from the Calvin Klein Spring 2012 collection that when it came to my own closet, I started looking for something I never knew I had - slips. Thank you Mr. Klein...I never would've thought the slip to my Bloomingdale's Tibi dress would have made a workable outfit. You too might be surprised at what you have in your closet....

VOGUE: 10 BEST DRESSED

We were more than a little surprised when we saw Vogue's 10 best dressed for this past week. Seven out of the ten we would consider to be pretty modest (we've seen the girl at the end before, and as was noted before, she could use a slip, but otherwise we were pretty satisfied). Obviously some we like better than others, but we figured we'd let you view the 7 images. We both saw Vogue's list separately; when one of us brought it up for a post, the other had already written it down to use. So we were definitely on the same wave length. But ultimately, what we really enjoyed was Vogue's synopsis for the week...
"While the current street-style trends may lead one to believe that, in fashion, the bigger and more outrageous, the better, what we found this week was quite the opposite. When it comes to modern dressing, to be truly groundbreaking, the forward-thinking woman knows it's all about two very important things: keeping it simple and being yourself."

We couldn't have said it better.
