INDY VINTAGE

Who doesn't love a little vintage bohemia in their arsenal every now and then? It's lovely to look and feel authentic in a vintage dress. It's also nice to know that you won't be looking like every mass marketed, crisp trend walking down the street. We found this dress on Ebay.

MARIGOLD

Bright colors have obviously been prevalent for Spring and Summer but they will be still going strong come Fall. During this last bit of summer we have styled this marigold blouse with our favorite white summer jeans but come fall we can't wait to mix  this bright color into a more rich palette, as was shown at the Proenza Schouler Fall 2011 show. Blouse and necklace H&M, jeans Forever 21, sandals Target.

Isn't she adorable? We want to recreate this modest look pronto. Skirt Club Monaco, T-shirt Helmut Lang, gray clutch Surface to Air. And we love the socks.

CROPPED T-SHIRT

How can a modest girl make the new cropped T-shirts work? Just pair them with high waisted skirts, be they full or penciled. Here we've gone casual in a plaid full skirt and cropped tee, both from H&M, and zipper trim rosette sandals from Roxy.

MODEST FASHIONISTAS

alltheprettybirds.blogspot.com

We had to show a couple fabulous shots taken outside the most recent Paris Couture shows via alltheprettybirds.blogspot.com. The first photo is a shot of some of the most sought after fashionistas walking together. Notice that out of the six women visible, five of them are wearing perfectly modest looks (and frankly, the less modest green dress seems to feel less current than the other looks). The colors are luscious and the denim shirt looks great amidst all the vibrancy. The second shot is a better look at Elizabeth Von Guttman wearing the Giambattista Valli dress that seems to be stealing the show.

LONG AND LOOSE MAXI SKIRT

Ah, there's nothing more relaxed, yet elegant, than a flowing maxi skirt. Topshop has some lovely options right now that I think will flow quite seamlessly into Fall (so follow the link and scroll down...). We like our maxi skirts worn with our favorite loosely tucked t-shirts and flat sandals (until the weather gets cool...then you can layer sweaters, scarves and belts up over your long skirt and wear it with flat boots). When wearing the maxi length we suggest keeping the look casual and cool, and suggest staying away from pairing it with heels or anything too fussy. We like to wear our long skirts like we really didn't even think about our outfit...even though we maybe did.
