The summer isn't over yet, which means you probably still have a few weddings to attend. What to wear? Why, a perfectly sleek Mad Men-esque dress! This dress is vintage but Banana Republic has teamed up with Janie Bryant, the costume designer for the hit AMC 1960's television drama, and is offering Mad Men inspired clothing. You'll find the line full of lovely, ladylike dresses and skirts that will give you that polished, retro look. You can also easily go online to sites like or Ebay and find the real deal - actual fabulous vintage dresses from the 1960's.

This is one of our favorite dresses lately - it reminds us of the cool, boxy shift dresses with crew necklines that came down the Calvin Klein runway. You can find similar looks at Shabby Apple and Zara, though if you're on the taller side this one at Zara may be a bit too short for you (one of us girls here at Thread Ethic is shorter than the other so this dress would probably be modest on only one of us).

We have been loving these gorgeous dresses from the Miu Miu Fall 2011 collection for a while now. Young Hailee Steinfeld is featured in the ad campaign. We know it's not quite fall yet but we can't help but look ahead...

Who doesn't love a little vintage bohemia in their arsenal every now and then? It's lovely to look and feel authentic in a vintage dress. It's also nice to know that you won't be looking like every mass marketed, crisp trend walking down the street. We found this dress on Ebay.

Bright colors have obviously been prevalent for Spring and Summer but they will be still going strong come Fall. During this last bit of summer we have styled this marigold blouse with our favorite white summer jeans but come fall we can't wait to mix  this bright color into a more rich palette, as was shown at the Proenza Schouler Fall 2011 show. Blouse and necklace H&M, jeans Forever 21, sandals Target.

Isn't she adorable? We want to recreate this modest look pronto. Skirt Club Monaco, T-shirt Helmut Lang, gray clutch Surface to Air. And we love the socks.
